Have a great Thanksgiving weekend with your family and friends!
Important Notes:
1) On Thursday, I sent interim reports home (in your child's planner pouch). I encourage you to talk to your child about their self reflection and how they have been enjoying the start to the school year. We will have parent teacher conferences in December after the first term report goes out.
2) Today, I sent home a FALL Poem book. This poem book is for you to keep at home with your child. Students can practice poems during their daily home reading practice to mix up the routine.
3) We will be going to the Pumpkin Patch on Oct 17th...the field trip is rain or shine! Please dress for the weather. If you are a parent driver for the field trip, please fill out a driver form at the office and verify your information with the clerks. If you are a driver, please arrive by 11:30am and we will leave for the patch at 11:45am. Thanks! We will be arriving back from the pumpkin patch, right at the end of the day!
4) Monday October 28th is DROP EVERYTHING AND READ DAY! It will also be a school wide PJ (pyjamas) day!
5) We have received planners now! On your child's fees account, you will see a charge for $5.00. Please pay this online :) Planners are intended to be a daily communication tool between home and school. From now on, please put any notices/forms in your child's planner that need to come back to school. Please send the planner back every day!
6) I have added a few resources on the "resources" tab for you to explore with your child if you wish.
7) Home Reading: Please read daily with your child. They must color in the calendar day, each day they read. Please send back the yellow duo tang on Friday November 1st for me to check over again. Your child should now know how to the math on the back page! I went over it individually with each child. If they need support with it, they can ask you to help them!
Your child can read any books they choose with you. When they would like to exchange their books, they can do so independently during soft start. Books they bring home may be too easy or too hard. If that is the case, please send them back with your child to choose a different one. As many students are emerging readers, they will need support when reading. Please take turns reading to each other and sounding out words. I will send home a sight word kit on November 1st.
